Burmese Pythons

The Burmese Python, Python molurus bivittatus, is the largest of the of the Indian pythons and native to a large variation of tropic and subtropic areas of Southern and Southeast Asia. Often found near water and sometimes semi-aquatic, they can also be found in trees. Wild individuals average 12 feet long, but may reach up to 19 feet.

Amid much controversy, in The United States Burmese Pythons may be considered an invasive species in some areas though studies have shown the Burmese python's range in the U.S. to be limited to Southern Florida.
