Rosy, Sand, & Rubber Boas

Rosy (Lichanura trivirgata), Sand (Eryx and Gongylophis), and Rubber Boas (Charina) are a group of stout-bodied snakes of similar nature, habits, and ecological niche, all of which are competent burrowers and members of the family Erycinae. The largest, E. johnii rarely exceeds 4 feet and most grow to around 2 feet in length.

These boas breed readily, their small size making them an attractive option but sometimes have a tendency to be a little nippy while spending the vast majority of their time hiding. They are usually not an aggressive species of snake.
